MUNUI: Symbol and Beauty in Korean Traditional Textile

Category: Branding Design, Graphic Design

Year: 2024
MUNUI: Symbol and Beauty in Korean Traditional Textile hosted on traditional Korean textiles, aims to present a system based on the symbolic meanings of spiritualism as represented in Korean patterns to overseas audiences. Furthermore, it aims to lay a foundation for the development of history and art content based on traditional culture. The exhibition will inspire visitors to appreciate the beauty and complexity of Korean traditional textiles, deepen their understanding of Korean culture and foster cross-cultural appreciation.

Insight:
The importance of traditions lies that they provide us with a connection to our past and present. When I visited V&A museum, I could find a lot of resources on Asian fashion and heritage, including Japanese, Chinese, and Indian, but very little on Korean. There’s an opportunity to address a story of Korean textile in the UK.
